Connection

We took the Figma Screens of our Mel- Milaap application and asked our end-users some questions about what they feel about the app as well as the concept

Here are the pictures of the interview we had with them and their answers to the questions asked:

Interview 1

Interviewer: Utkarsh Sahu
Interviewee: Mrs. Savitri Bai (Age - 65:  Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh)

This was Utkarsh's second interview with her, she was interviewed before in the Context phase.

The original interview was in Hindi, it's translated into English to write here

Q1. Do you have a smartphone? If yes do you use any video calling app to talk to your friends?

Answer: Yes I have a Samsung Android phone. I don't video call much because many of my friends and relative don't know how to use those apps and some don't even have a smartphone. Whenever I use, I use Whatsapp to video call.

Q2. Are you able to read and recognize the features in the App?

Answer: Yes, the icons are large and easy to interpret compared to other apps.

Q3. Do you think this app will be able to decrease loneliness in the lives of the elderly?

Answer: Your team's idea is good, but the problem is not many people have smartphones. And people in my generation are more comfortable talking in person. But this idea of connecting with people having similar interests and sharing your knowledge and viewpoints is interesting. It will not completely remove loneliness but this app will help in keeping us entertained and connected with more people like us. Especially in current times (Corona times), this will be very helpful to get connected more frequently and interactively with our friends and family.

Interview 2

Interviewer: Sakshi Chaudhary
Interviewee: Shanti Devi Chaudhary( Age: 74, Bharatpur)

The original interview was in Hindi; it's translated into English to write here

Q1. How do you found this app? Is it good?

Answer: Yes it looks like a good app, very colourful, and features are useful.

Q2. Are you able to read and recognize the features in the App?

Answer: Yes I am able to recognize features through clear pictures and icons.

Q3. Do you think people will use this or it will reduce the loneliness and make elder people feel empowered?

Answer: Yes we will use it if it will be good, like is it showing now. And in the current coronavirus period people like me have not stepped out from home much, so this will be a good platform to discuss things with my friends. I have studied a lot of literature and books on Indian Mythology and in your app there is an option to schedule discussion and share knowledge. If this app will work I will use that to talk about Hindu Mythology. I also know Yoga and would like to teach to others through this.

Q4. Any suggestions?

Answers: Try to build something for normal phones also.
